Payments can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Please note: Payments made before midnight will be posted to county records the next business day.

In order to provide major credit card services and to comply with credit card company by-laws, we have contracted with a third party to process credit card payments.  The Office of the Treasurer uses Virginia.gov to process Visa and MasterCard utility payments over the Internet and Official Payments Corp.® to process American Express and Discover payments.

***Virginia.gov will charge a convenience fee of 2% plus $1.00 for each payment charged.  The fee for E-check is $1.00 per transaction.***  

***Official Payments Corp.® charges $3.95 per utility payment, regardless of the amount of payment. ***

These fees are allowed by State law. 

Disclaimer: Stafford County assumes no responsibility for incorrect information entered by citizens. Citizens are responsible for ensuring that payments are made in sufficient time to meet required deadlines. Citizens are responsible for printing and retaining the confirmation of any payment.  Payments must be confirmed prior to midnight of the scheduled due date to be considered on time. Failure of a citizen to understand any information provided herein will not constitute grounds for waiver of any penalties or interest due to late payments.
