Germanna Community College is accredited by the Commission of Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate degree as well as a variety of certificates. Among the more than 40 programs of study are: Automotive, business administration, dental hygiene, education, engineering, fire science, history and humanities, information systems technology, life sciences, nursing, health technologies, police science, and veterinary technology. University of Mary Washington (UMW)
The University of Mary Washington (UMW) is a nationally known liberal arts institution located on 176 acres in historic Fredericksburg, Virginia, just three miles south of Stafford County. Marine Corps University (MCU)
Marine Corps University (MCU) is located aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, in the northern portion of Stafford County. MCU develops the professional competence of its Marine, joint military service, international and civilian students. The university focuses on the development of leadership, warfighting, and staff operations skills of the nation's military forces through resident and nonresident learning programs. MCU programs are available for active duty military.
