The Stafford County Employee United Way Committee will host a community yard sale on Saturday, September 19, 2009, from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Stafford Administration Center, located at 1300 Courthouse Road.

Government employees are renting the equivalent of two regular parking spaces to vendors for $20. The money raised will be donated directly to the Rappahannock Area United Way. “Many different items will be available for sale,” said Judy Barnes, chair of the committee. “In these difficult economic times, shoppers will be able to find bargains on several things including children’s clothing, tools, electronics, furniture and even artwork.”

Proceeds from the sale of Krispy Kreme® donuts, baked goods, barbeque, hot dogs and cold drinks during the event will also be donated to the United Way.

Parking at the Administration Center is limited on the day of the sale. Visitors are asked to avoid parking along yellow curbs or where “No Parking” signs are posted, and may not park in areas cordoned off by yellow cones. Police vehicles, ambulances and fire trucks are required to have easy access to Courthouse Road (State Route 630) and Jefferson Davis Highway (U.S. Route 1). Parking will not be allowed in the immediate area around the Stafford Rescue Squad building.
