Grand Opening Scheduled for Fire and Rescue Station 2
May 5
A
grand opening ceremony is scheduled for Fire and Rescue Station 2 located at
305 Jason Mooney
Drive off of Courthouse Road (State Route 630) on
Friday, May 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.
The
ceremony will include remarks by the Chairman of the Stafford Board of

traditional “hose uncoupling” will formally open the station.
Station 2, the second County-built fire and rescue
station, will serve as headquarters for Volunteer Fire Company 2, Volunteer
Rescue Company 1, and as a base for a career medic unit. The 15,000 square-foot
facility features three drive-through vehicle bays, dorms for fire and rescue
staff, a kitchen, a specially-designed ventilated tower to dry hoses and other
equipment, a large training room and office space. Construction by Chicago-based
Teng & Associates, Inc. started in October 2007
and was completed earlier this year.
