Stafford Invites Citizens To Local Government Classes

Stafford County officials will host a series of
classes this summer for citizens interested in learning how their local
government operates.
The “Stafford County Citizens
Academy 101” will run once a week on Wednesdays from July 8 – August 5. Topics
will cover the Board of Supervisors, key departments, the County budget, and
history and tourism. The last class will include a tour of the Public Safety Center and the County’s newest fire and
rescue station on Courthouse
Road.
All classes will run from 6:00
p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with the exception of July 15, which will run until 9:00
p.m. The classes will be held at the Stafford Administration Building at 1300 Courthouse
Road. They are free of charge.
The deadline to register is June
29, 2009. Space is limited and students are accepted on a first-come,
first-serve basis. The minimum age to participate is 16. To register, please
